This pivotal moment launched him into an illustrious journey with the United

States Marine Corps Field Bands, where he proudly served with the esteemed

Marine Bands in Okinawa, Japan, and Parris Island, SC. In 1993, after an intense

live audition, he reached new heights as a finalist for the highly regarded

Commandant's Own, United States Marine Drum and Bugle Corps in Washington,

significant events, including the D-Day ceremonies at Utah Beach in France, and

including the President of the United States. As a dedicated adjudicator for the

Mississippi Lion's All-State Band, Mr. Haskins passionately imparts his knowledge

through private percussion lessons, holding a Masters of Music Education degree

from William Carey University. Currently, he serves as the Assistant Band Director

and Director of Percussion at Southwest Mississippi Community College, where

he inspires percussion majors through engaging music lessons, guiding the

Show. With over 30 years of professional performance and teaching experience,

Mr. Haskins is fueled by his unwavering commitment to seeing his students shine

in percussion. He takes pride in watching his students blossom into professional
